Proposed changes to the

Highway Code

Proposed changes to the Highway Code will come into effect at the end of January 2022. These changes will give more clarity to other road users on how to safely pass a horse and rider, also more guidance on the best way to do this safely. Major changes will include a maximum speed limit to pass horses drop to 10mph, never passing a horse on the inside and clarification to the hierarchy of road users. Safety signs go up across the UK

More signs have been spotted across the UK after being placed by local councils. This one was spotted in Nottinghamshire by HRSA member Melanie.

HRSA have teamed up with Trail Riders Fellowships (TRF) to create a leisure series of videos showing the parallels horse riders and trail riders have in common. The videos also aim to educate both parties on how to act around each other so ensure everyone is able to enjoy the countryside at their  and be safe doing it.
